It would seem that money can buy anything. I suspect Vogue just secured investment for the next 10 years. Sean Combs (aka P. Diddy) persuaded Anna Wintour (long term associates), the Vogue Editor to make a guest appearance on his latest album.
Anna has landed a speaking role on Diddys’ newest album, “Last Train to Paris” (which is being released December 14), along with other bold-faced fashion names like Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen, Tommy Hilfiger, Isaac Mizrahi and André Leon Talley.
For an exclusive first listen, go to Vogue.com, where Talley describes the new album as a “brilliant fusion of stream of consciousness and beats that bring to mind the broken cadences of avant-garde jazz.” Which to my mind sounds like hell served up on a plate. The fashion-centric album is getting a lot of love from the Vogue team and is credited with inspiring a shoot from the February 2010 issue featuring Natalia Vodianova and Diddy (styled by Grace Coddington and photographed by Annie Leibovitz).
Apparently track 2 has Anna’s audio cameo/rapping debut, where she says: “This is Anna Wintour from Vogue magazine. You are now listening to the ‘Last Train to Paris.” Oh dear god, what next, Kate Middleton appearing on a catwalk in a translucent lace dress… oh wait that’s already happened!
